Breakfast at the hotel – Transfer to Lori province - Lori Fortress - Hnevank - Akhtala fortress – Overnight in Stepanavan

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will transfer to Lori province. Lori is Armenia's third largest province. It covers an area of 3,789 square kilometers. The first you will see the Lori Fortress. Medieval city-fortress Lori (Lori berd) was founded in XI century. Although the fortress was cruelly destroyed, some parts of it, including the bathrooms and the chapel-mausoleum were kept. There are unique murals found in the residential areas of the fortress which, if compared to the other contemporary paintings, are in secular manner. Next, you will see Hnevank monastery. The monastery has a gavit and various service buildings scattered around the site. Then you will visit to Akhtala fortress, is a 10th-century Armenian Apostolic Church monastery. The prominent Armenian filmmaker of the 20th century Sergei Parajanov filmed two episodes of his film The Color of Pomegranates at the monastery. Overnight in Stepanavan.

Breakfast at the hotel - Dendropark - Odzun Church - Kobayr monastery – Transfer to Yerevan – Overnight in Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Then you will see Stepanavan Dendropark, is the only garden in Southern Caucasus that was transformed from forest into an arboretum. The majority of the territory of Dendropark is still covered by the verdurous forest, and the rest is surrounded by exotic and unique plants and trees. The air is saturated with fragrant and healthful pine oil and therefore is recommended to all the people with breathing problems. There is a tradition connected with the beautiful wooden bridge located in Dendropark. When passing the bridge for the first time, one can make a wish, and it will come true for sure. Next you will see Odzun village. The domed basilica is situated in the middle of the village and is seen almost from every side. The inscriptions of the church do not convey any information about its foundation, though the architectural and artistic analyses have proven that it was built in the 6th century. The last stop is Kobayr. The fantasy of the architects and masons has reached outstanding achievements when building Kobayr monastery. It was built in the 13th century on a picturesque and inaccessible rock. The whole monastery seems to be integrated into the rocks. The monastery consists of three churches, chapels and a refectory. The main church is half destroyed and its only survived eastern wall covered with stunning frescoes is like a huge canvas towering over the rocks. In the evening transfer to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
