After your arrival we will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Yerevan. A little rest. Lunch in Yerevan. Then you will visit to the ruins of Zvartnots. The temple reminds a cross put into a circle. The ruins of Zvartnots Temple are designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. You will have free time in Yerevan. Later you will have a nice welcoming dinner in a restaurant with national dishes and drinks. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day begins, as always with a breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will visit to Garni Pagan Temple located not far from Yerevan. It was dedicated to the sun god mitra (mihr) and was the summer residence of Armenian kings. Next is a UNESCO heritage sight Monastery of Geghard. It is known for its peerless sculptures and cave church. Founded in the 3rd centurym, its name translates as spear, dedicated to the Holy Lance, which used to be kept here. Lunch. Return to Yerevan. Take part in the Vardavar festival. On “Vardavar” in modern times, everybody pours water on one another, starting early in the morning. If you visit Armenia on this day, you should not feel displeased, or show you are offended, because it’s a long-preserved tradition that Armenians keep from generation to generation. There is no such holiday in any other country of the world! After festival dinner in Yerevan.
Breakfast at the hotel. Then you will visit to one of the most favorite touristic spots in Yerevan – the open-air Vernissage market, where locals are selling their hand-made souvenirs. Your trip continues with a city-tour around Yerevan. First of all, you will be able to enjoy an amazing view to Yerevan and Mount Ararat from the observation area in the Victory Park. The excursion will continue to the Cascade – the favorite place of Yerevan residents. The Cascade is a huge staircase that connects the city center with the residential area. Downstairs, you will see the unique sculptures, belonging to the world famous foreign sculptors. Next, you will pass through the main street of the city. Here you see the building of the Opera and Ballet Theatre, several central streets, and the Republic Square – the “heart” of the capital. Then transfer to the airport and departure.
